uranus opposing the houses - 07/23

uranus is well known as the planet of electricity, social media, and technological advancement. i made this tweet about how uranus is placed throughout the houses and how that affects our usage of technology. 

here's a list of uranus - house oppositions and what they could mean for you!

• uranus opposing the 1H:

with this placement, it's important to not allow your online activity (♅) affect your self-perception or your identity (1H). the first house has much to do with one's character while uranus governs networking — as a result, it's necessary for people with this placement to not let social media (♅) manipulate their personality and way of life (1H). 

• uranus opposing the 2H:

with this placement, it can be very helpful to keep track of your finances (2H) using pen and paper in addition to using an accounting program (♅). the second house rules our possessions and wealth, so remember to develop material assets and valuables (2H) throughout your life that aren't related to online banking, intellectual property, etc. (♅)

• uranus opposing the 3H:

it's a given that we shouldn't be distracting ourselves with our electronics when we're driving, but individuals with this placement should be especially conscious of not taking calls (♅) while in the car (3H). the third house also has to do with neighborhoods, local transit, and transportation, so try to be present in your environment rather than stuck on the phone (♅) whenever you're walking around town or running errands (3H). 

• uranus opposing the 4H:

with this placement, it's important to put the electronics (♅) down every now and then when you're spending time with your family (4H). watching television or having movie night with your family is perfectly fine, but be intentional about doing things like running errands, going out to dinner, decorating the house as a group, doing chores together, etc.

• uranus opposing the 5H:

with this placement, it’s good to find hobbies and fun activities (5H) that don’t revolve around technology (♅). the fifth house also governs children; if you have a child, make sure you’re not saturating all their play time (5H) with technology like video games, television, online media, etc. (♅) and you give them other options to find enjoyment.

• uranus opposing the 6H:

this placement can be a little bit complicated because so much of our daily routines (6H) involves technology (♅), but i think the best way to satisfy uranus in this position is by opting to do your daily tasks in a more manual fashion if you can. for example, the sixth house is associated with one's artistic processes; perhaps instead of doing digital art (♅) such as editing or photography, you could create art through painting, sculpting, playing an instrument, cosmetics, etc. 

• uranus opposing the 7H:

with this placement, it's important not to be on your phone (♅) too much while attending social functions or spending time with close friends (7H) !! the seventh house is associated with our inner circle and personal intimacy, so try to keep your focus directed towards your loved ones (7H) while you're with them rather than checking your emails or notifications (♅).

the eighth house has much to do with secrecy, concealment, and privacy. with this placement, it's important to maintain a private life (8H) outside of social media (♅) where you only share things with people you have fidelity in. people who have their natal uranus in this position should also invest in their privacy on social media —  make your accounts private, get a VPN if you can, etc.

• uranus opposing the 9H:

with this placement, try not to be too consumed with your phone (♅) when you're travelling long distances (9H). whether a road trip or a flight to another country, make sure you're focused on experiencing your journeys instead of posting about them on social media (♅). the ninth house also governs publication and one's beliefs, so try to stimulate your mind with things like editorial articles, books about topics you philosophically align with, etc.

• uranus opposing the 10H:

the tenth house relates to our moral attributes, so be cognizant of the influence that social media (♅) has on the principles you abide by (10H). career-wise, this placement requires some creativity since most of the jobs (10H) that exist today require the use of machinery (♅). try to find career paths associated with the natural world / more artistic labor rather than technological or scientific.

• uranus opposing the 11H:

with this placement, it's very important to socialize and create friendships with people (11H) who are in close proximity to you. the eleventh house governs marketing; even if you have a job / run a business that relies on social media, don't overlook the impact of networking with people on a face-to-face level. things like going to community events and handing out business cards in person are great ways to establish connections (11H) without relying on technology (♅). 

• uranus opposing the 12H:

like i said in my tweet, people with this placement should make an effort to keep their phones or computers (♅) away from their bed / places of rest (12H). the twelfth house also deals with solitude and meditation, so carve out some time each day to rest your mind (12H) and take a break from the electronics (♅).
