
saturn and ceramics - 8/1
saturn governs clay, ceramics, and pottery. i made this post on instagram about how ceramics have developed as an art form of saturn and how saturn affects our relationship with pottery.
here's a list of saturn aspects and what they could mean for you !!
- saturn - sun aspects:
there often exists a natural talent and love for creating pottery with this placement; you could definitely garner a lot attention and recognition making your own ceramics. the sun is the planet of admiration and accomplishment, so people with this aspect can achieve artistic milestones of many kinds throughout their lives. individuals with this placement also have a knack for making pottery related to illumination — light fixtures, candle holders, etc.
- saturn - moon aspects:
individuals with this placement typically feel an emotional attachment to pottery or ceramic projects they personally undertake. there's also have a tendency towards collecting ceramic items that hold sentimental value as the moon is the planet of sentimentality. people with this placement tend to have a preference towards homes that are made out of brick / thoroughly decorated with pottery.
- saturn - mercury aspects:
making your own pottery could provide some form of stress relief; using the hands as a way to keep the mind busy. mercury has much to do with instruction, community, and learning environments so individuals with this placement especially benefit from taking ceramics classes or by simply making pottery in a group setting. people with this aspect also enjoy learning about ceramics in a more intellectual fashion — the history of them, how the process works scientifically, etc.
- saturn - venus aspects:
individuals with this aspect are often collectors of various ceramic items much like saturn - moon placements can be. when making their own ceramic articles, there tends to be more of a fixation on the beauty of the object rather than the utility of it. venus governs valuables and possessions so people with this placement treat their artistic pieces very preciously. these individuals also enjoy buying / making their own pottery for others as gifts.
- saturn - mars aspects:
making your own pottery could be an excellent way to expend built up energy or frustration. individuals with this placement tend to rush through their ceramic projects or feel the urge to complete them very quickly. a particular enjoyment of the firing stage — seeing clay go from a soft material to something durable and sturdy. there usually lies an inherent taste towards pottery that is geometric, sharp, or spiky in some manner.
- saturn - jupiter aspects:
people with this placement tend to take their skills with pottery and ceramics into a higher academic environment. there's also a determination to make rather large / flamboyant ceramic pieces. jupiter represents foreign countries and cultures, so individuals with this aspect like to style their pottery after artistic references they find from different cultures. interestingly, this aspect can also cause people to develop pottery skills through their marriages and relational commitments.
- saturn - uranus aspects:
using pottery as a way to connect and bond with people is particularly beneficial for individuals with this aspect; recording videos of yourself making your own ceramic pieces and posting them on social media would certainly be a great way of doing so. much like saturn - mercury placements, these people also enjoy the scientific element of creating pottery and understanding how it chemically works. people with this placement are typically involved in making / fixing the technology used to create pottery.
- saturn - neptune aspects:
individuals with this aspect generally stick to making ceramics that can hold fluids — vases, containters, cups, etc. there also seems to be an enjoyment for the messiness of the art and how much water is involved as neptune rules water. neptune also governs isolation so creating pottery can be a good way for people with this placement to get some peaceful alone time. much like saturn - mercury placements, these people often have an appreciation for ceramics as antiques and historical objects.
- saturn - pluto aspects:
people with this aspect usually feel some sort of shame when it comes to their relationship to ceramics — perhaps that they didn't take up the art or that they aren't "good enough" at it. pluto governs secrecy so individuals with this placement tend to keep their skills or artistic creations very private; only showing them off to those they trust or have an intimate bond with. pluto also represents darkness so these people often prefer working with darker clays and glazes when making ceramic pieces.
